What's UNI? And does it talk to other AIs about my mail?

UNI is the AI persona for every smart capability across the product — drafting, summarising, CRM context, voice. Inference runs on infrastructure we operate. Where we use third-party providers (Groq, Anthropic), your data is excluded from their training by contract. Each tenant gets a per-tenant adapter that runs only for them — never mixed with anyone else's.

What happens when my mailbox fills up?

New mail gets deferred, not bounced — senders' mail servers retry for 5 days while you free space. You get a heads-up at 80%, 95%, and 100% with the cleanup wizard one tap away. You can also add personal storage that bypasses the company pool. Full breakdown at What happens if….

How do you watch for abuse without reading my mail?

We look at patterns, not content: outbound velocity counts, UNI prompts (what users ask the AI — not the AI's answers, not your mail), and signup metadata. Suspicious patterns land in an operator review queue — humans decide, and the default is flag-not-act. Full disclosure in our Privacy Policy.

What's the DNS setup like?

After signup we hand you five records to add at your registrar: A (inbox.your-domain), MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC. If you're on Cloudflare, paste an API token and our DNS orchestrator publishes them for you. The DNS health tab tells you which records are live so you don't have to guess.

What happens if I cancel?

Your tenant stays active until the end of your paid period. Mailboxes keep working, mail keeps flowing. Data Export (mbox + PDFs + CRM history) is available anytime during the 90-day grace window. Want immediate deletion? One button on the cancellation page, 24h email-confirm, done.

Can I customise how the inbox looks?

Yes. The Branding tab lets your admin upload a logo, pick primary and accent hex colors (which drive the whole gradient palette across login, CTAs, and tags), and set a custom welcome message on the sign-in page. On Pro, the "Powered by Talking Unicorn" footer disappears too, and the mobile apps ship under your brand.

What about migrations from Gmail / Workspace?

Both Roundcube and SOGo can pull your old mail in via IMAP. For larger migrations (10K+ messages, multiple mailboxes) we'll write you a one-time imapsync script — included on any plan.

Who's actually running this?

A small team that got tired of every other email provider. The stack is open source — Postfix, Dovecot, Rspamd, SOGo. No mystery boxes, no black-box AI: UNI's agent prompts and triage logic are all auditable.
